Wake up to the beauty of Morecambe Bay

Walking in and around Morecambe, Lancaster & the Lune Valley

Breathe in the fresh air, take in the spectacular scenery, watch the wonderful wildlife. There are so many great walks.

A walk along Morecambe Promenade. Set off westwards from the Craigwell and down to the pretty village of Heysham, where the ruins of St Patrick's Chapel stands upon the mysterious and magical headland hidden beyond St Peter's Church, or go eastwards towards Teal Bay, Hest Bank and the canal.

Try one of the Carnforth Canal Walks Many walks are detailed in the leaflet 'Walking for all' (downloadable below). They include A walk around Silverdale - This area is an intricate patchwork of limestone ridges and crags, woodland, meadows, wetlands, salt marsh and more, with one of the richest ranges of flora in the country. The diversity is astonishing, and this walk takes in a fair sample of it.

Try the Lancaster Heritage Trail - Great Fun! This blog explains

Morecambe Bay Cross Bay Walk - A great walk across the sands is a must for any walking enthusiast. (Crossing is only possible at low tides and with the leadership of a professional guide.)
