Nice ,quiet location, caring staff, homely cooked and served breakfast

I stayed at the Hotel with my little dog and were immediately made to feel very welcome.The room was very clean and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay, and the provision of dog bowls and biscuits were a lovely thought. The view from the window across the Bay to the mountains of the Lake District were beautiful.The dining room was bright and airy and the decor was excellent. The breakfast menu offered plenty of choice, even for those with dietary restrictions. Breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely, thank you! Nothing seemed too much trouble from these very helpful hosts.The location of the hotel offers easy access to some lovely walks along the promenade and it was only a short drive to the Lakes.In the room is a list of dog friendly places to eat out and I would definitely recommend the Dog & Partridge at Bare, which also makes for a nice walk to get there.The only downside is the noise of the traffic on the road, but of course this is not the hotel`s fault and any hotel along the promenade area will have this issue.Overall, I would definitely have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or indeed staying again next time I visit Morecambe.

We returned to the Craigwell after a couple of years and found the new owners John and Ed to be the perfect hosts. A lovely cup of tea welcomed us and we were immediately impressed by the cleanliness and fresh atmosphere at the property.Our rooms were lovely, spotlessly clean and all amenities in place, with ample tea and coffee, crisps andkitkat provided as a snack. The breakfast was ample, freshly cooked and very well presented by Ed every morning. With plenty of tea, toast and anything else you could need to set you up for the day. We found that filming was taking place for the new series of The Bay. We went along and actually met some of the cast and this made our stay extra special. Thanks again to John and Ed. We would recommend this place to anyone.

Loved the hospitality and the hotel ambience

The rooms are recently refurbished.The bed is very comfortable and the room clean.A central location and quiet residence.

From the welcome to leaving I couldnot fault the graigwell very clean, comfy beds, great views, excellent freshly cooked breakfast little snacks and water in the room we have stayed in morecambe a few times and all though not the cheapest hotel it’s the best value for money we have found worth every penny

It was our second visit to Craigwell and as before the owner made us feel very welcome.The accommodation is very clean and very comfortable, breakfast is excellent.What more could anyone want?

Very clean 10min walk to centre warm welcome with a nice cup of tea, room was a bit on the small side but we had the last one and we were only there two nights .Breakfast room well organised a very good hot breakfastHost was five star very helpfulno problem booking again.

Brilliant views across the bay. Nice walk along the prom into town. Easy parking, normally right outside the front door.Lovely breafast and nothing is too much trouble. 2nd time I've stayed here...there will be a third!

Good choice of menu for breakfast all cooked fresh to order plus plenty of choice for cereals & vegetarian options ,. Room clean and tidy and everything in room fully working, some hotels class TV/ shower as decorations not hear you will get good service and be treated as a customer not an inconvenience!

From the moment we arrived to our departure we felt very well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. The bed was very comfortable, the view, spectacular, the welcome tray was a very nice surprise.We were offered a drink as soon as we arrived, which was most welcome after a few hours traveling. The breakfast was superb so tasty....all we can say, is....thankyou for a wonderful couple of days, should we need accommodation in Morcambe in the future, we would have no hesitation in returning to The Craigwell.

Since having found this gem of a holiday stay in Morecambe I no longer need to look elsewhere.Cleanliness, comfort and all needs met cannot be bettered, add to this the breakfast which is cooked fresh to order, the views across the bay and the location of the Craigwell I cannot recommend this B and B anymore highly and I have stayed in a few places in Lancaster and Morecambe but this is by far the best and always my first choice when booking.

Really friendly people. Breakfast was great with a very good selection and good to see a recycling bag next to the bin for newspapers, bottles, etc. Will definitely be back.

Spotlessly clean room. Excellent breakfast, cooked just how I like it and on hot plates. Good coffee. Attentive but not overbearing hosts. We were treated to a bottle of wine as a present for our anniversary. Wonderful view from the room. I recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will be staying again. We had a warm welcome from John who made us a pot of tea on arrival. We booked a deluxe double with sea view, definitely worth the extra cost to see the sunset. Breakfast fantastic. John gave us good info on local places. Food excellent. Morecambe well worth a visit!

This is the second time I have stayed with John and Edward and I will be doing the same again next time I visit Morecambe. I like their blend of professionalism and friendliness.Parking has never been a problem and the Craigwell represents excellent value for money. Oh and the breakfast is great!

Our weekend stay here was amazing. We had the second floor sea view room and the view was amazing and getting to sit at the bay window and see the boats was great, particularly when the tide is in.There's ample street parking on the front for free and we could see our car from our room (although very safe anyway).Was nice to have my wife's case carried upstairs when we arrived and check in was quick sat in the lovely lobby.The rooms were a good size and very clean. Bed was comfy and chairs and table by the window we're nice. Bathroom was a little small and dated, but clean and fine for what you need.Nice surprise welcome pack by the window, with crisps, sweets, orange juice and water and while my wife thought it was too sweet I loved the tea.The hotel has a bingo hall around a hundred yards away and the main front with the park, shops and bars are only a few hundred yards away, so really central to everything you need. There's a shopping centre and market within walking distance and a little further and less than a 5 minute drive are Aldi and Sainsburys.We're a young couple so there are a few bars that are a bit busier and there a plenty to choose from, just like the restaurants which are all highly rated. It was nice to come back to an immaculately clean room after walking off a hangover on the seafront.For a quiet, peaceful weekend Morecambe is brilliant, there are still things to do that are fun for young adults and it's always nice to bring back those seaside memories by dropping some pennys at the local slots and arcades.We'll definitely be back and while there seem to be lots of great places to stay The Craigwell will be the top of our list again, as the experience was perfect from start to finish, particularly the amazing breakfast in the lovely kitchen they have there, prepared by one of the nicest hosts we've ever come across.

We stayed at the Craigwell for 4 nights for a business trip.It was a choice based on economy but with some quality.We were not disappointed.The bed was comfortable enough, the room was clean enough, the breakfasts were excellent and out hosts John and Edward were both friendly and helpful.John in particular was interesting and informative regarding the local area.Thank you both.

Warm welcome with a cup of tea, lovely after a 4-hour drive.I didn't have breakfast but the room was clean and had everything you could want. The hairdryer was good. Good selection of teas/coffee, bowl with a packet of crisps, biscuits and sweets - a lovely gesture.Several parking spaces out the back but free parking along the front and a paid car park also at the rear. Room 7 single room had a decent size en-suite, shower could do with more power but was sufficient. Just cross the road to walk along the promenade - beautiful.Giving 4 stars as didn't have breakfast so couldn't rate that. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, just ask.I would recommend and would stay again.

I can not praise John and Ken enough for their professional, kindness, customer service and generosity. I stayed there for two nights and the service is the best I have had in Lancaster; second to none. They made ensure before I arrived, my room was heated, room very clean, breakfast - absolutely fantastic, very polite and they went over and beyond to make me feel welcome.I will be using it for all my trips to Lancaster/Morecambe area henceforth. Words alone can not do justice to the service I received from John and Ken. A big thank you and see you all soon.

I stayed as a single female traveller for two nights in October.My room was excellent and very comfortable, with an amazing view out over the bay. The hospitality tray in the room was one of the best I have evet come across and I particularly liked the very nice mug for tea and coffee rather than the standard little cups you usually get. Breakfast was very nice indeed and my only minor gripe was they gave me too much smoked salmon with my scrambled eggs! The staff and very friendly and nice without being over attentive and made me feel very welcome. I will definitely be returning. Thank You.

A very welcoming place! And perfect cooked breakfasts! A wonderful view of Morecambe Bay. The only thing that wasn't satisfactory was the electric shower that was somewhat feeble. Nevertheless,thank you - I enjoyed my stay.

Spent the weekend here and it was brilliant. Very welcoming and nothing was any trouble. Prior to arribal I emailed John as it was my partner's birthday whilst we were there and they were able to decorate the bedroom for us and also got us a cake! Perfect. Very good for dogs too, ours had a bowl of water and god waiting for him and a cooked breakfast sausage every morning. Room was lovely with a beautiful sea view and very close to all amenities. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

We have stayed at the Craigwell before.The new owners have made some improvements and it's a pleasure to stay there.The views over Morecambe bay are wonderful,and the promonade is ideal for walkers,joggers and cyclists. Genuine John greeted us with a lovely filter coffee and chat. The room was perfect with added extras of bottled water, orange juice and nibbles. Had a great nights sleep on an extremely comfy bed.Cutie bathroom with shower. Excellent full English for breakfast and on the second morning I had smoked salmon and scrabble egg on Lancashire oven bottom which was equally just as yummy. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will definitely be coming back.

Everything about the craigwell hotel was superb.Our dogs were well treated with food and water and treats.The room was large and comfortable.The location was lovely across drom the beach and walking distance to a number of restaurants.The information on where to go for dog friendly places was super helpful.The breakfast was really nice and the room bright and cheery.Decorations all up to date.Definitely revommend especially for dog owners.

I arrived around 5.00pm Sunday evening and met at the door by Ed who welcome me and during registration, offered me coffee. John the co-owner introduced himself and showed me to my first floor room which has all the amenities one needs. In addition to the 'Usual' things, TV, tea/coffee making etc there were a good selection of informative booklets and magazines of the area. The bed, clean and comfortable and plenty of linen and toiletries provided.The hotel is spotlessly clean.Breakfast is really wholesome with a very good selection of cereals, yoghurts and fruit and a a very good menu of cooked breakfast items.Overall, will I stay thereagain, I most certaily will on my next trip to Morecambe.Oh, and the rates are very competetive too!

What can I say about the Graigwell. It’s amazing spotlessly clean and fresh everywhere! The owners Ed and John were wonderful and looked after us and our two dogs even bringing them sausages to the bedroom they were so good with our dogs they let us take them to breakfast too. Amazing you won’t be sorry you stayed and you will go back. 😀😀😀

I genuinely cannot fault The Craigwell. The room was spotlessly clean. The en suite was lovely and the bed was comfortable. The view from our window was spectacular. The breakfast was first class. But the BEST thing about our weekend was the owners. John and Ed were the perfect hosts. Going the extra mile to make our stay as good as possible. Both my wife and i would have no hesitation to recommend The Craigwell.

Our party stopped for a couple of nights in two separate rooms. One was a small single with a sea view which had a tiny bathroom while the other was a good sized room for an adult couple (we stayed with our dog). The property and its furnishings are somewhat aged but this seems to be so commonplace at present and a refurbishment and renovation programme promise much sowe are looking forward to revisiting this property on future visits to see what this delivers. The tiny bathroom was not an issue for our party but its alteration is arguably a necessity going forward. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The basics of cleanliness and comfort, warmth and welcome, were provided without fault. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay

We booked a weekend away at the Craigwell Hotel and really enjoyed our stay.When we arrived we were made to feel really welcome. We were shown to our room which was really nice and comfortable.There were plenty of nice thick fresh towels in the room and ithad everything you needed.The breakfast was 10 out of 10 there was a menu to choose from which catered for vegetarians also . I would definitely stay there again and would up grade my room to sea view.

Very friendly hosts. Very clean and cute hotel. Great view and location: calm at the sea but not far from Lancaster if you drive. But you can also walk to a lot of amenities nereby. Great breakfast made at order. Staff always ready to help with anything and very flexible. Plus they are pet friendly which I really appreciate. I will definitely come back with my dog to enjoy the stay and beach. I just loved it and people in general in Manchester, Lancaster and Morecambe are very sweet!

The hotel is in a great position, few minutes walking from the center of Morecambe and on the waterfront which gives you an amazing view! People working in the hotel are extremely friendly, polite and the rooms are clean and tidy, even if extremely small.

Premises were very clean and we received a warm welcome from staff. Good breakfast. Not suitable if you have difficulty with stairs as there is no lift. En suite facilities were a little small. Overall good value.

John and Edward are really friendly and accommodating.They only took over The Craigwell a few weeks ago so they're just settling in. 1 or 2 things still need tweeking but the rooms are clean and comfortable and I'm sure it will soon be really great.The Craigwell suits our needs perfectly and we will be staying there again this summer.

The Proprietors Edward & John did an outstanding job. They gave us a warm and sincere welcome. The room was spacious and spotless, with a fabulous sea view. The super large bed was extremely comfy, and to top it off, Johns breakfasts were tasty and filling! Edward was a wonderful Front of House Manager and anything we asked he was always ready with advice and a smile. The whole experience was so amazing that when my Wife and I left it felt like we were leaving friends not B & B Owners. We'd recommend The Craigwell for anyone who wants First Class service but at an excellent and affordable rate.

Stayed for one night last weekend. warm welcome, booked loft room with a superb view of Morecambe Bay. A lot of stairs to climb but well worth it. Room had orange juice and water supplied as well as the usual tea & coffee, that was a nice touch as I dont drink tea or coffee.Comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent, piping hot. Hosts were very friendly, definitely stay again.

I stayed here for the first week in November and I found the room to be very clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was ample and very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpfull. I will definately stay here again.

I found this a great hotel,the room was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable, our room had a lovely view of the bay.The hotel was very central for everything,only about a six to ten minute walk to the town.The breakfast in the morning were excellent and you had a great choice all freshly cooked for you,the owners were very helpful and nothing was a problem for them.We will definitely be coming back as we really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here for two nights whilst on a health retreat. Single on suite room lovely and clean, bed v comfortable an lovely thick towels. Free wifi with good signal, tea / coffee etc replenished daily and my bed was made on the Saturday morning which I didn't expect. Didn't have breakfast as I was on the retreat but the dining area looked lovely and clean. Free parking to the rear and stunning views over the bay.

We really enjoyed this lovely seaside town of Morecambe. Gillian and Jim are generous hosts. Our room was quiet and comfy and so clean.Breakfast was ample and tasty.Facing the bay, convenient location to Bare, local restaurants yet outside the more populated center of the town. We enjoyed walking around the town, renting a bike from Coopers Amusement, and using the launderette in Bare. There's a good network of biking trails along the canal and all the way to Lancaster and further.

I only have a few words to say .The best b and b we have stayed at in 25 years we travel all the time and stay in first class accomadation this only being a b and b is up there with our best . 10 out of 10

I travelled with another single female for a NO HANDS Massage course being held in Morecambe for 4 nights. We were made to feel very welcome from the word go. My single room was very pleasant (sea view), clean and well equipped. The complementary teas and coffees etc were always generously re-stocked. Complementary toiletries of good quality, although I did only use the hand wash having bought my own shower gel and shampoo. There wasn't a hairdryer in my room initially but a quick word with Jim and one was placed in there that day. The ensuite shower room was a little compact, I had to step outside it to dry myself off, but that would not put me off recommending this establishment. The breakfasts were delicious, both Gillian and Jim making sure to accomodate your requirements. Wifi great in my room. Highly recommended.

We arrived early and thought it was polite to inform the owners we had parked in their car park. We werewarmly welcomed by Jim and told our room was ready and we could get in straight away. We were shown to our room and Left to unpack. The room was spotless and quite spacious. Loved the little extras on the hospitality tray. Comfy bed and a fantastic sea view were brilliant. Gills breakfasts were superb, well cooked, piping hot and plentiful. Our Whole experience was great from start to finish and we will definitely return.

We are mature couple who both still work and we were looking to visit Lancaster and enjoy a well earned break. It was well worth climbing the stairs to the top floor bedroom.It was spacious and light with the most fantastic view across the bay. also quieter being that little bit further from the busy promenade road.The bed was warm and comfy and we had all the extras we needed including a snack bar and the makings for tea, coffee and chocolate. Jims' local knowledge was helpful we had great food in the Tai Rose and the Honey Tree restaurant. We plan to go again and walk the bay.

The rooms were comfortable and the sea views wonderful. A small criticism would be that the water pressure in the showers was a little low, but I'm being picky. Breakfast was really delicious. Not to be missed! Thanks for the tip on how to perfect fried bread. If you're looking for a relaxed, home-from-home experience with no pretentiousness, then this is ideal.

Staying in the Craigwell was an absolute pleasure; I asked for early breakfast and lunch and even though breakfast wasn't served until 8, I got a lunchbag with lovely sandwiches, drinks and fruit every morning. The room was cosy, albeit a bit noisy but it had all the mod cons.I was also impressed by all the ecofriendly things, which even go as far as fair tradecoffee and tea on the tray in the room. I will definitely stay again!

Located just off center of Morcambe but a brisk ten minute walk found you in town with all the facilities featured in the hotels brochures. The rooms were clean and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay, Gil, our hostess, was very helpful and quick to respond to a what I would call a minor hiccup.PS. unless your name is Hungry Horace or Glasgow`s famous "Rab Haw" go easy when you order breakfast.Regards D&E. I have stayed at this cosy hotel several times and I have always found the hotelier very friendly and the breakfasts first class. Although the hotel is small it is spotlessly clean and always well presented. I can recommend it to all The only thing is there is poor invalid access and no lift. The hotel however caters for walkers and accepts dogs to stay, providing they are well behaved.

We had a lovely time at The Craigwell. Gill & Jim were most welcoming, breakfasts were great, nothing too much trouble. The view from the bedroom (when the fog had cleared) was very relaxing.

pity about the weather but that was out of your control,you recommended several nice places to eat which we took advantage of but were somewhat intrigued by the fact that many were closed until wednesday-thursday on a final note it may be a good idea to put the good places to eat in your book,apart from those few minor point`s everything was fine as was the lovely breakfast.

Warm welcome even before we arrived, Ray telephoned to confirm our arrival time and offered helpful advice on how to locate The Craigwell.Our bedroom was clean, fresh and very comfortable. Offering great views over Morecombe Bay there was room to sit back in the large bay window, relax and enjoy the view. The decor was pleasant, and all finidhed to a high standard - loved the Welcome Tray!Slept well and enjoyed a delicious home-cooked breakfast.Locally sourced produce is used, the Cumberland sausages and bacon were our favourite!Would recommend staying at the Craigwell to anyone visiting the Morecombe area. My wife and I visited the Craigwell in Morecambe between 31 August and 6 September 2014. Although the owners were away on holiday we were excellently looked after by Ray who produced superb breakfasts and was a mine of useful information. Our room was very comfortable and had stunning views over the bay to the Lake District Fells and the Furness Peninsula. I would definitely recommend the Craigwell to anybody visiting the Morecambe area.

Gill and Jim, the owners, gave us and our dogs a friendly welcome and catered for all our needs. The rooms were spotless. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay again if in need of accomodation when travelling to Scotland from Southern England.

I stayed at the Craigwell for several days in early June 2014. Gillian and Jim were fine hosts, the food was good, and they even had an extra umbrella on hand. I would definitely recommend it!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Friendly, helpful hosts, lovely room with great views and lots of 'extras'. Super breakfasts with plenty of choice. High standards in all areas. Would not hesitate to recommend The Craigwell Hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Had a very warm welcome to Craigwell. Room looked great, very comfortable and good night sleep. Love the green environmental adaptations to our stay. Didn't bring the dog but would do so next time as they provide care for pets and even towels for their muddy/ sandy feet. We will be back. Thanks.

I would definitely recommend The Craigwell to others. The standards in all areas were exceptional, cleanliness, food and the green approach. My visit to Morecambe was made enjoyable by knowing that I was returning to a warm and welcoming hotel. It is likely that I will stay there again if I visit the area.

Had a really nice stay at the Craigwell, mine hosts were lovely,very clean and the breky was excellent.Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This is our second time staying at the Craigwell, it was excellent the first time and nothing has changed since! The rooms are immaculately clean, the hospitality excellent and the breakfasts are wonderful! Try to book a sea-view room, it is well worth it!!

Lovely place! Jim & Gill were extremely helpful & good hosts. Room was lovely with a beautiful view over the bay. Breakfasts were very good indeed. Next time we are up that way we will stay at Craigwell.

Stayed in Craigwell Hotel on 25/26 April '14. Very warm welcome from Jim and Gill. Spotlessly clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was first class, freshly cooked and hot with lots of tea and coffee. Would stay here again. Highly recommend.

Fabulous b&b. Perfect location on the sea front, our room had a beautiful sea view. Very close to the centre of town, but far enough not to be disturbed by the town's late night activities. Welcoming hosts, delicious breakfast, hot choc, juice, water & snack bars in room on arrival & lovely big fluffy towels:-) would most definitely recommend it.

Made very welcome, lovely breakfast, tidy rooms, super views at veryreasoable rates. We will be back.

Our 2 night stay couldn't have been better. The hosts were welcoming and the room was very good. The breakfast was lovely (especially the sausages). There is plenty of parking. Whilst morecambe isn't as lively or as clean and tidy as it used to be and I was sceptical about staying in a waterfront B&B the craigwell definitely put my mind at rest. I'll definitely stay there again when visiting family in the future.

I have just spent three nights at The Craigwell. My room had the view to die for, super comfy bed and big white towels. Lots of little extra touches - every sort of tea catered for, recycling bag in the bedroom, kettle, bottled water and orange juice provided in the room plus four sorts of biscuits. Oh yes, and all spotlessly clean. Recommended.

Just had 4 nights at the Craigwell on our annual Sept. visit to Morecambe - our 4th. I think.As good as ever - even with the owners away.Ray was running the show and the room/service was truly excellent.Left it late last year and stayed at an adjacent hotel which came nowhere the Craigwell for quality or anything else for that matter.

We enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable stay at the Craigwell Hotel. Both our dogs were welcome, which only adds to our endorsement of this hotel. The room was of a high standard and the breakfast was superb.

I have stayed in several budget hotels in Morecambe during the last ten years and this was the best.Very well managed by the resident proprietors, it was clean and well appointed. My single room was small and may have been better with a single bed rather than a double but was comfortable and had a lovely bathroom which appeared to be quite new.Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices and was very efficiently served.At the price, it was excellent value and I would have no hesitation in staying there again.

My wife and I stayed at The Craigwell Hotel for 4 nights as a base for visiting family etc.Welcomed by Jim we were shown to our room on the first floor number 1 which gave an excellent first impression.Everything was set out beautifully very clean, everything we could wish for. The unexpected bonus was the fantastic view from the bay window -of Morcambe bay and Lakeland hills. This was a great spot to sit and enjoy - out of the wind. We enjoyed a good nights sleep before discovering the excellent Breakfast prepared by Gill.These breakfasts continued to be relished throughout our stay. This couple are easy to get along with and very attentive to the needs of their guests.We will stay again.

Excellent Guest House, we had a second floor seaview room which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.Breakfast was great, different choices if you don't want the full english.Lots of car parking - free directly outside the Hotel, short walk into town.

The service at Graigwell was excellent. Clean room and a very good breakfast menu, together with very friendly owners made it a very pleasant experience. Cannot fault it in any way = we WILL most certainly stay there again.

The hotel is lovely welcoming and clean. The landlords are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble, even an early breakfast on a Sunday morning. It's very good value for money and we would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

Excellent overall, bedroom clean, comfortable and lots of extras.Great choices for breakfast, haddock, smoked salmon and the best mushrooms.Definitely will make this the place to stay if we visit Morecambe again.

All in all an excellent place to stay. We enjoyed a very warm welcome by the lovely owners. Our room(the one at the top)was a little more expensive than the others but was well worth it - tastefully decorated with gorgeous views of the bay. The little extras were lovely and made us feel as if we were at home(from the organic biscuits and a great selection of fairtrade teas and coffees to the little soaps/body lotions.) Breakfast was fantastic(fresh local/organic produce) with a varied menu (juices, cereals,cooked breakfast, smoked fish, scrambled egg and salmon etc: all very yummy!)It was interesting to read in the folder where the food actually came from!The folder also contained extremely helpfultips on what to do in Morecambe as well as how to be more responsible for our planet even as a hotel guest(i.e. saving water, recycling waste etc.In fact we had never experienced "green tourism" before but since staying here would like to try out this kind of accommodation for future holidays. If we`re ever in Morecambe again, we`ll definitely come back to the Craigwell Hotel.
